Fabio Capello: "The spirit of this team is and must remain English."

Football - England Press Conference
Mr. Capello competed with the Azzurri at the 1974
World Cup in West Germany. He was capped 32 times
with 8 goals for Italy. He scored a historic goal
against England at Wembley Stadium in 1973.

From the England training camp at altitude in Irdning, Austria, Fabio Capello was coy about rumors of a potential move to Internazionale Milano:

"Sono concentrato soltanto sul Mondiale".
"I am focused only on the World Cup."
3 Open Slots

Sports News - May 25, 2010

"I've already chosen 20 players but 3 slots are still to be determined."
Gareth Barry

"The doctors say that Gareth is getting better," explained Capello, "and he is an important element for this team. He has gotten a lot better over the years. By next Tuesday we will know if he will be able to come to South Africa with us. He will have to pass a fitness test."

English Spirit

"I want them to take the pitch with the English spirit. They can be managed by an Italian, a Brazilian, a Swede or a Scot. The manager that guides them will be able to influence their style of play. But they can't ever lose their mentality. The spirit of this team is and must remain English."
