Ernest Hemingway began his writing career as a reporter
for the Kansas City Star.

"Newspaper work can help a young writer as long as
he gets out of it in time."

I would like to invite you to participate in the first writing contest at World Football Commentaries. Last month, readers from 127 countries visited my blog.

You may submit articles, commentaries, essays, or game reports about any aspect of international soccer.

Although only one winning entry will be chosen, the contest enables aspiring writers with an opportunity of a published clip for their portfolio.

Submissions will be evaluated for clarity, content, objectivity, unique themes, and writing talent.

Submissions should be received by 31 October 2009, and the winner will be announced on or before 05 November 2009.

All submissions will be published if they meet the contest rules.

  • Less than 750 words.
  • Only one submission per contestant.
  • No profanity, offensive language, or personal attacks.
  • English language and/or translated from your native tongue.
