Alive and Kicking UK is a humanitarian initiative that produces footballs, netballs, and volleyballs in Kenya, South Africa, and Zambia for distribution to children on the African continent. The balls provide needed employment for many, along with awareness to maladies that afflict the African continent: HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and TB.

I had written about this important project in June, and would like to make an update about their latest activities.
  • Recently, they stitched their 170,000th hand made ball.
  • Winners of the Score4Africa Enterprise award.
  • Balls made by Alive and Kicking were used in the recent "Legends" tournament at Soccerex in Johannesburg.
  • A movie about the organization, "Bounce," was presented during halftime at a recent game at Goodison Park between Everton and Aston Villa.
