Serie A Week 12 Goal of the Week: Giuseppe Mascara of Catania

This was his second goal of three on the day.

Watch how his Catania teammates move quickly to the left and right before he struck the free kick. They also did something rather unique. One of them pulled his shorts down to block the keeper's view.

To say the least, it was an interesting tactic.

As we can see from the reaction of the Torino keeper, Matteo Sereni, the ploy by Catania unnerved him and his defensive wall.

“This is a strategy that Zenga tries continually in training,” Pietro Lo Monaco, the club’s chief executive, told RAI state radio Monday.

Former referees coordinator Paolo Casarin called the move “unsportsmanlike and in bad taste.”

“It’s a trick that should not be tolerated anymore by the referees,” he said.

Mascara would then score the game winner giving him seven for the year. And a rare "tripletta" or hat trick.

Bravo, Mascara.
