Calcio is just around the corner; in fact, the summer training camps, or "i ritiri," will begin very soon.

Here is a list, courtesy of the La Gazzetta dello Sport, of the 20 sites for the Serie A. Luglio means July. Agosto means August. The locations in parentheses are Italian provinces, and most of the teams train in the Alpine regions of Northern Italy. Exceptions are Milan and Roma who train at their usual local facilities, respectively, along with Cagliari who stays in Sardinia.

Napoli appears to be the only team that will train outside of Italy. Teams in red are newly promoted to the Serie A. Beginning in August, teams play friendlies either domestically or abroad. The Italian Super Cup between Inter and Roma will be played in the United States on 24 August 2008. The Special One returns to North America. ;-)
Serie A kicks off on 31 August 2008. The schedule has not yet been released. For an interactive map of official Italian football web sites, please click here.
