Empoli 4 x Cagliari 1. Nicola Pozzi had a "poker," which is the Italian soccer term for four goals. Daniele Conti had a consolation goal for the Sardinians.

Genoa 1 x Siena 3. Mario Frick had a brace, and Simone Loria led the Tuscans to an important 3 points in Genoa. Figueroa had the lone goal in injury time for the Genoese.

Internazionale 4 x Torino 0. Marco Materazzi had his first start for Inter as they rolled by Toro with goals by Ibrahimovic, Cruz, Jimenez, and Cordoba.

Juventus 1 x Atalanta 0. The great veteran, Pavel Nedved, scored late in the game to keep Juventus within striking distance of Inter.

Livorno 1 x AS Roma 1. DeRossi scored in the 5th minute for Roma, but Livorno immediately equalized a minute later by Diego Tristan.

Udinese 3 x Sampdoria 2. Fabio Quagliarella had a brace, and Toto Di Natale had the third goal for the Fruiliani. Claudio Bellucci scored from the spot, and Christian Maggio had the other goal for Samp.

Napoli 1 x Parma 0. Marcelo Zalayeta scored in the 18th minute as the Azzurri won for the first time since October.

Saturday, 08 December

Lazio 2 x Catania 0. Goals by Rocchi and Pandev helped to push the Laziale into a safer position in the table.

Palermo 2 x Fiorentina 0. Miccoli and Simplicio scored for the Sicilians.
