Ricardo Kaka': 2006-2007 FifPro Player of the Year

Ricardo Kaka' of AC Milan and the Brasilian National Team was named the 2007 Player of the Year by FifPro, which is an organization of football players from around the world. According to Football Italia, there are over 57,500 members.

Here were some comments by Ricardo:

“I am humbled to receive such an honor. To follow my good friend and such a great player as Ronaldinho makes this a very special award for me. To be recognized by my fellow professional players worldwide coming from over 50,000 players is amazing. I would like to thank my teammates and coaches and everyone involved at Milan and the national team, as well as my family and friends for their support."

Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Buffon (ITA)

Defenders: Alessandro Nesta (ITA), Fabio Cannavaro (ITA), John Terry (ENG), and Carles Puyol (ESP).

Midfielders: Steven Gerrard (ENG), Cristiano Ronaldo (POR), Ricardo Kaka' (BRA).

Strikers: Lionel Messi (ARG), Didier Drogba (IVO), and Ronaldinho Gaucho (BRA).
