Serie A Schedule for 2007-2008

For the 2008-2008 Serie A TIM fixtures, please click here.
The FIGC (The Italian FA) released some key dates for the upcoming 2007-2008 season in Italian calcio.

The season will begin on Sunday, 26 August 2007. Azzurri coach Roberto Donadoni, who has two key Euro 2008 qualification games in early September (home against France on the 8th and away against Ukraine on the 12th) had lobbied, unsuccessfully, for an earlier start to the Serie A. But a compromise could not be reached.

Fixtures Lists

Football Italia (In English).

La Gazzetta dello Sport (In Italian). Days are listed before months in Italy. For example, Giornata 1, 26/8 = Week 1, 8/28.

Please visit this excellent site called Italia del Calcio. They have the complete weekly schedule of games, along with many other statistics of the Serie A. (In Italian but with English translations of key terms available at the site).

Other significant dates
  • The Italian Supercoppa between Inter Milan and AS Roma will take place on 19 August in Milan.
  • There will be 5 breaks to accomodate the Euro 2008 qualification, along with two weeks during Christmas and New Years: 09 September, 14 October, 18 November, 30 December, and 07 January 2008.
  • There will be 4 mid-week games: 26 September, 31 October, 27 February, and 19 March 2008. (Why they have any before 2008 makes no sense to me. With Euro 2008 qualification games, along with Champions League and UEFA Cup encounters, the calendar is quite full). I thought that the English had the award for playing too many games. ;-)
  • The last game will be on 18 May 2008. There will be 38 games (19 home (andata) and 19 (ritorno) away).
Newly promoted teams:

Relegated teams to the Serie B:

Champions League:

Internazionale: Automatic qualification.
AS Roma: Automatic qualification.
SS Lazio: Must qualify from the preliminary rounds.
AC Milan: Must qualify from the prelimiary rounds even though they are the defending champion.

AC Fiorentina
Empoli: I believe that this will be their first appearance in the competition.

Where to watch Serie A in the USA and Canada?
