Gold Cup: Honduras 5 x Cuba 1: Pavon Scores 4

Carlos Pavon of FC Espana scored four goals, which is known as a "poker" in Spanish and Italian, as Honduras produced another excellent performance the Gold Cup. In the preliminary game, at Reliant Stadium in Houston, "Los Catrachos" summarily defeated a dazed but game Cuban squad, 5 x 0. Pavon scored the first four, and was substituted in the 60th minute.

Pavon, the leading scorer in the history of the Honduran National Team, played two years in the Serie A with Udinese and Napoli. He has also had stops in Spain and Mexico. Partnered with Carlos Costly, Honduras, in my opinion, have the best attacking duo in this tournament.

Depending on the result of Mexico x Panama, Honduras will either finish first or second in their group. And advance to the quarterfinals this weekend. They have never won a major international competition; however, this may be their best opportunity.
