David Suazo Sold To AC Milan?

A week ago, we all thought that David Suazo of Cagliari was headed to Inter Milan. But apparently last night, Cagliari sold him to AC Milan to begin another of the melodramas of Italian football. Inter and AC Milan are bitter rivals. Let's look at what some of the principals have said (and I will translate from the Italian via an article in today's edition of the "Gazzetta dello Sport.")

Massimo Moratti, patron of Inter Milan:

"The player (Suazo) signed with us, therefore, we will see. Cellino (owner of Cagliari) could not get through to me since last Thursday? Lies. Galliani? (VP of AC Milan). Well, I already knew him well...

Adriano Galliani, Director of Sport and VP of AC Milan:

"Moratti? I have nothing to say. Analyze it with your own brains."

Nicola Salerno, Director of Sport of Cagliari Calcio:

"The first thing in a transfer is the agreement between the two teams, and then comes the signature of the player.... I don't believe that there was a signed contract by Suazo; I am convinced that the matter will go forward. Now I'm waiting for the arrival of Suazo's agent. With regards to the conditions, I don't believe that Suazo will have problems signing with Milan."

Apparently, AC Milan will pay a transfer fee of 14 million euros for Suazo. David is now on holiday, and was not available for comment.
