Rossi Leads Parma Out Of Relegation

With three games to go in the Serie A, Parma is hanging by a thread. Along with several other teams whose fate may not be known until the final fixture in two weeks. Today, Giuseppe Rossi added two more goals to his impressive tally (9) as he led Parma over already relegated Messina, 4 to 1. The Parma club now have 38 points, and have only lost once since early April. Inter Milan, already crowned champions of Italy, have 92. If you look at the Serie A table, there is a vast drop, numerically, between the top two (Inter and Roma) and the remaining 18 clubs.

The young Italian-American is on loan from Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson wanted him to have playing time, and this exposure has helped the player, along with both clubs. Rossi is also on the roster of the Italian Under 21 team who will try to defend their European championship in June. Rossi has an impressive strike rate of approximately 50% in the defensive-minded labryinth known as the Serie A.

Well done, Beppe.
