New Wembley Stadium Unveiled Tomorrow

After seven years, one of the Cathedrals of world football, Wembley Stadium, will host its first senior level event: The FA Cup Final between Chelsea FC and Manchester United. Last month, during a test match between the English and Italian Under 21 teams, 60,000 fans enjoyed the new architectural marvel of the world. Tomorrow, full capacity of 90,000 will witness one of the oldest sporting competitions in the world.

There will be many dignitaries, among them Prince William, along with historic figures from past glories at Wembley. It should be a great start to a new chapter at the stadium.

The architect of the new stadium, Lord Foster, gave a video tour of a project that cost 757 million pounds sterling (about US $1.5 billion). Please take a look, and enjoy his commentary about the soul of English football: Wembley Stadium.

Chelsea defeated Manchester United, 1 x 0, in extra time on a goal by Didier Drogba.
