Deloitte and Touche LLP's Annual Review of Football Finance

An interesting article by Ryan Mills of Bloomburg UK discussed the findings in the annual report by Deloitte and Touche LLP. Apparently, England is where the money is, and will be, for some time to come.

"New television agreements will lift the combined revenue of the 20 Premier League teams 28 percent to 1.77 billion pounds by 2008, according to accountancy firm Deloitte and Touche LLP's Annual Review of Football Finance...

The new television contracts will boost the Premier League's financial advantage over rival leagues, Deloitte said. England, Italy, Germany, Spain and France comprised 53 percent of a total European soccer market of 12.6 billion euros ($16.9 billion) in 2006, up 9 percent on the previous year. England's Premier League made up 2 billion euros of that. "
