Sweet 16 For Inter Milan

With a 1-0 victory today over Cagliari, Inter Milan set the European consecutive games record at 16 in a row. In a season mired with Calciopoli, violence, the demotion of Juventus, along with points penalties to their usual city rivals, AC Milan, the feat of Inter has not received its proper acknowledgment.

Inter is a team that fields virtually a foreign club. With the exception of Marco Materazzi and Fabio Grosso, the team has a definite South American flair. Adriano, Burdisso, Cambiasso, Julio Cesar, Cordoba, Crespo, Cruz, Maicon, Maxwell, and Zanetti to name several of the Inter contingent from the Americas. They have a commanding 14 point lead over second in the table, AS Roma, and can now focus on the Champions League. A competition that they have failed to win in over a generation.

Complimenti, Mister Mancini.
