Roberto Mancini Makes Inter Milan History

With a 2 to 0 win over Messina this afternoon, Coach Roberto Mancini wrote a page in the glorious history of Internazionale Milano. He won a club-record ninth straight game, which was something that more famous coaches, such as Helenio Herrera and Giovanni Trapattoni, failed to do. Next Wednesday, Inter can move within striking range of AS Roma for the Serie A record of eleven wins in a row. Ironically, the game will be played against SS Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Mancini had a stellar career at Sampdoria and Lazio. He also was an Azzurro, and competed for Italy at the European Nations Cup in 1988, along with the World Cup of 1990. Prior to Inter, he coached at Lazio and Fiorentina. He has also won more Coppa Italia (Italian Cups) as both a player and coach than anyone.

In bocca al lupo, Mister Mancini. Good luck to Coach Mancini and Inter when they face Lazio to set the club record.
